The Magic
Sometimes I help create the space for a person's natural creativity to come out, sometimes I flow into a space that they have already created, careful not to disturb it. My craft in the field is fast-paced and organic. I rarely have time to stage. Instead, I must be ready to capture fleeting moments of emotion as they occur. As I head home for the day, tired but happy, my mind is whirling with possibilities over the not quite realized creations that I have taken the first step towards crafting. I have carefully stored the memory cards in my pocket for the ride, and I can't help but feel like a courier transporting raw diamonds.
Because for me as an artist, capturing the raw image is only the beginning. Half of the magic happens afterwards, as I mold each image into a finished piece of art. I use modern tools now, but like the craftsmen and artists of old, I am still appealing to the same primal human emotions that define us all.
Below are a few Before and After examples of my craft. Hover your mouse over each image to move the dividing line.
